Beit Theresienstadt (also: Beit Terezin) was established on Givat Haim Ihud, Israel in 1975 as a non-profit organization in memory of the Jewish Martyrs of Ghetto Theresienstadt.
The official name is: Theresienstadt Martyrs Remembrance Association.
The association is functioning as an organization for Holocaust Survivors, holding memorials, commemoration and welfare activities for members of the first generation of survivors and their families.
In the educational programs, a special emphasis is placed on the rich cultural creativity that was produced in Terezin Ghetto, as means of coping and surviving by Ghetto residents.
The artistic production that was salvaged from the Ghetto comprises thousands of paintings, songs, musical works and the writings of the Jewish prisoners.
