Studied with Marcel Bergman, Haim Taub and Zvi Harel, he continued his studies with Aldo Friso at YALE University in the USA on a special scholarship, and with Bernard Greenhouse.
Often performs with important artists including the late Isaac Stern, Yaffim Bronfman and others, collaborated with musicians of his generation such as Guy Braunstein, Alban Gerhard, Joe Young Bick, Avri Leviathan, Amichai Gross, etc., performed as a soloist with various orchestras including the Israeli Philharmonic , the Calgary Philharmonic, the Chile Philharmonic, the Rishon Lezion Symphony, the Israel Symphony and more.
Ariel regularly performs at international festivals including the Rolandchek Festival, the "Villa Musica" in Neustadt, the Hanzebruich Island Festival in Neues, the Banff Festival, Canada, the Dubrovnik Festival in Croatia, the Canberra Festival in Australia and more.
He served as chairman of the cello chair at the "Foundation García Fajer" in Spain, a former member of the Jerusalem faculty of music and dance.
One of the founders of the "Jerusalem Trio" - the first place winner in the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan in 1999, and the International Competition in Melbourne in 1995, with which he performed for 30 years around the world.
Recorded CDs in Japan, Canada and Germany as a soloist and with the "Jerusalem Trio".
